Why should I hire a coach?
The reasons people engage a coach are varied, but the common denominator is a desire to grow. Some people feel “stuck” in their present level of creativity, productivity, or effectiveness. Others are successful but unfulfilled in their careers, relationships, or ministries. Often it is time for dreams or goals that have been put on hold to gain momentum. Coaching appeals to healthy individuals or groups that want to become all they can be. Coaching is an investment in yourself that positively affects everyone with whom you have contact.
What can coaching do for me?
The consensus of those who have experienced professional coaching is that coaching brings multiple benefits: support and encouragement, greater self-awareness, realization of mindsets that have been inhibiting progress, clarity surrounding core values, freedom to explore behavioral options, confidence, accelerated personal and professional growth, and support for improving interpersonal skills.
How is coaching different from counseling, consulting, or mentoring?
Coaching is long on listening and questioning but short on advising. A coach doesn’t provide the answers; a coach helps you find your own answers. A coach does not tell you what to do but helps you explore your options and move ahead to the achievement of your own goals. You set the agenda. The coach helps you follow it.
How long do sessions last and where are they held?
Coaching sessions typically last forty-five minutes. It is advised that you meet with your coach two or three times a month for a duration of at least three months. But every situation is unique and those details will be worked out between you and your coach to fit what is best for you.
Coaching can be done over the phone, online, or in person. Email support between sessions is standard.
How do you help ministries?
60% of US pastors don’t feel they have anyone they can talk to honestly about their jobs and 70% don’t have a close friend, confidant, or mentor. Individual coaching can fill that gap. It is a confidential relationship that provides a safe environment for sharing the struggles that come with a fish-bowl existence. Our 30 plus years in church leadership help us to relate to the issues many pastors face.
Developing church leaders can be a challenge as well. Many are willing to serve but have not had the opportunity to learn the skills needed to bring others along or manage a team of volunteers. Staff dynamics may benefit from increased attention to good communication and understanding of others’ temperaments. All of these situations can be successfully addressed through presentations and group coaching.
What are the details about your presentations?
All of our presentations are between two and four hours long and tailored to meet the needs of your group. Each capitalizes on fun activities and group discussions to make the learning memorable and enjoyable. We are certified Real Colors® facilitators and use their copyrighted workbooks for the Real Colors® workshops. The basic Real Colors® workshop is a pre-requisite for Real Colors®Real Leadership and Real Colors®Real Teams.
In addition to the topics highlighted on our site, we also offer training in Communication, Building Trust, Emotional Intelligence, and Stress Management.
